On Christmas Day this year, RK and I went for a day trip to Sekinchan with 9 of his nephews and nieces. Yes, 9 aged 1 to 11 years old. I don’t think I’ve travelled with this many kids before so I didn’t know what to expect. Definitely didn’t expect to go cycling because I wore a dress! Didn’t really come to my mind that cycling at Sekinchan by paddy fields was a thing in our tropical weather.

Hulu Tamu Hot Spring at Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor
About a week ago, I saw a friend posting about a hot spring retreat an hour away from KL. That perhaps lingered in my mind. After one of my consecutive long work days, I just felt like soaking myself in a hot spring. The search began for an overnight trip to a hot spring resort but rooms were full so we settled for a public hot spring in Batang Kali: Hulu Tamu Hot Spring.
Honestly, I’ve never heard of this hot spring until it appeared on Lipstiq as one of the 10 hot springs in Malaysia. Surprisingly, RK said he’s heard of the place and thus I researched further. Continue reading Hulu Tamu Hot Spring at Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor
Day Trip to Carey Island, Jugra, Banting & Jenjarom
RK and I sometimes like to go on road trips because he likes driving around while I like roaming around. It’s normally a day trip with on-the-go itinerary (read: no itinerary), like the ones we did to Malacca, Ipoh, Tanjung Sepat, Sekinchan and Bukit Tinggi. At the back of my mind, I’ve always wanted to visit the Mah Meri in Carey Island and we were finally persuaded to go after reading this full-day itinerary blog post on www.parentwonder.com.
We only missed one location in the reference itinerary and added our own along the way. It ended up being a day trip to Carey Island, Jugra, Banting and Jenjarom within 6 hours, excluding drive time to and fro home in Klang. Sounded a lot but some were really quick stops so it can be replicated easily.

Day Trip to Malacca
Two weeks ago, RK and myself just felt like work stress was too much to handle. One fine morning, he randomly suggested a day trip to Malacca to “runaway from stress”. With no itinerary at all, we woke up when we woke up and drove to Malacca for our “runaway” =)
Random weekend getaway to random places in Malacca. Stopping wherever we stumble upon. Where should we stop next? ☺

Day Trip to Ipoh
Mei Er came home from the United States with her American boyfriend (Dan) so we decided to go for a roadtrip to explore local food and places of attraction as a cultural exposure and experience for him. And we have chosen: Ipoh!
I volunteered to plan the trip only to plan it at midnight before our trip. Hehe. #lastminute. But I thought it turned out great even though I only took an hour to plan half asleep. And so I shall share the plan too to benefit people who have been asking about the places that shared on my Instagram and Facebook!
