I’ve always felt very intrigued to try eyebrow threading since college days because I had a friend who kept promoting it. However, I never tried it until yesterday when I finally found a place (and the resolution) to do eyebrow threading in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya!
To be specific, the saloon I stumbled upon is located at the LG Floor of Evolve Concept Mall, which is within walking distance from RK’s residence. I believe the saloon, Women Z World, opened end of December 2015.
Eyebrow threading is priced at RM7 while eyebrow and upper lip threading package is priced at RM10. I’m guessing that Little India at Jalan Tengku Kelana in Klang (5-min drive from where I live) would give me a cheaper rate but I’ve never explored that option after so many years so this threading service within a mall in Ara Damansara sounds like a great deal to me.
It was my first experience at threading and I was very afraid of pain — those were my words to the beautician when I sat on the chair.
Threading pulls hair out (like tweezing) instead of cutting the hair (like shaving). And threading pulls multiple hairs out at one go so I expected it to be more painful than tweezing. However….it’s not!
Yes! The good news is that it’s less painful than tweezing! Honestly, my tear ducts were still awakened but the pain was very bearable. It felt like a blunt object scratching my face with force when the hairs were pulled out.
The pain only sank in AFTER the 5-min threading was done. I had red patches on my face and those patches felt burning, just like how I felt when I tweeze at home. And yes, upper lip was more painful than eyebrow. The aftermath of threading felt longer than tweezing but for periodic grooming, I’d prefer threading. Fast and clean. Tweezing and shaving can do the job for frequent home grooming (if I catch up with the rate my hair grows).
Feeling accomplished this New Year for trying out threading and liking the new grooming experience.
hello there, stumble upon your blog and notice that you knew a face threading place at klang. I’m looking for one too at Klang, may i know the name of the face threading shop? You mentioned it is at Jalan Tengku Kelana, do you know the shop name?
Your reply is much appreciated, thank you. 🙂
Hi Lisa! I’ve never been to the one in klang though. Just heard from friends that you can get it in Little India Jalan Tengku Kelana. Will drop you a message again if I get the shop name from my friend =)
