Over the weekend, I mustered a lot of courage to do a Facebook Live chat with Mei Sze about cancer and fertility. It’s a difficult topic to talk about in public because infertility insecurity has been my biggest issue since my cancer diagnosis four years ago. At that point in time, I didn’t know if I wanted to have my own children yet but very quickly after learned that it’s one experience I’d be most curious about if I end up kicking the bucket at 25 from cancer.

Quarterly Chat with My Oncologist 23 Months Post Cancer Treatment
It’s time to meet my oncologist again! If I’m not mistaken, this was my second last quarterly visit. I’m gonna see him half yearly only after this…or maybe not since I’m still on a drug test program 🤔.
Anyway, let’s get the big news out first: blood test result was good. We spent 10 seconds talking about it.

I’ve seen Instagram posts of this pretty-looking boxing gym: LiquidCage Boutique Gym. I’ve never given much thought how the gym would work until I was briefed that it’s a HIIT session. I initially thought I could punch and fight my friends 😅. Even then, I was still quite clueless until the class started.
You know you’re in for an intense fitness class when you’re given Red Bull prior to class… I typically avoid carbonated drink but I knew I’d be working out hard so I cancelled the guilt and accepted the drink. Continue reading HIIT Boxing at LiquidCage with Young Survivors Group
Doodling for Therapy to Cope with Cancer (and Life, Really)
Have you tried meditating before? I did when I learned qi gong. Time slowed down 1000x when I tried. Then a friend bought me a coloring book for me to kill time during chemo. It took my mind off but I didn’t do much of it because it’s tiring to use colour pencils. I tried doodling, courtesy of National Cancer Society Malaysia and Kanvas Space. My First Relay for Life Malaysia
I wondered why Relay for Life has to start at 6pm until 10am the next day. I think I understood over the weekend as I joined my first Relay for Life Malaysia as a young cancer survivor, a week before my 1st year anniversary since completing cancer treatment…
The anticipation for Relay for Life started to build up about 3 weeks before the event as 4 other young cancer survivors and myself gathered for our dance practice. We volunteered to represent the young cancer survivors for a dance performance. Continue reading My First Relay for Life Malaysia
An Open Letter to A Youth Cancer Fighter
Dear Mei Mei,
I’ve only met you a few times during World Vision volunteering experience. I doubt we exchanged more than 20 words but you left a great impression on me — a joyous individual who brightens not just the children and families you advocate for but the team that works with you towards the same cause.
There is no doubt that you are the sunshine everyone needs in life.
Working Out At Curves For The First Time
Over the weekend, I joined a Youth Support Group activity organized by our National Cancer Society Malaysia Youth Ambassador: Mei Sze. The group gathers cancer patients and survivors aged 18-35 years old. Mei Sze has been consistently organizing fun monthly activities and I’ve joined two so far!
The one that happened in the recent weekend was a workout session at Curves Malaysia. Curves is a female-only gym that focuses on teaching about healthy pre-workout food and aims at strength training via their 30-min circuit. I’ve never been exposed to this before so it was my first time and I loved it! Continue reading Working Out At Curves For The First Time
