3D2N Snorkeling Trip at Gilligan’s Pulau Aur, Johor – Apr 2019

I just left Pulau Aur, Mersing, Johor after a 3D2N snorkeling trip. Before I reach home and see how burned I am, let me just say that it was a very nice trip 😍. The coral was beautiful. The snorkeling activity was comfortable. The view was amazing. The resort and beach was private. The host was very nice. The package was worth it as well.

Actually I can’t recall if I’ve been to any snorkeling trip since high school, which is at least a decade ago, so I don’t have much to benchmark against. I don’t usually go for beach or island holiday where I actually get into water as well so read this review with a pinch of salt. Hahaha.

Thoughts on The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman

I finished reading The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman! I have to say that when I finished the free sample on Google Play Books, I was a little indifferent about reading the entire book. When I reached the midway, I felt quite convinced that while I believed in his theory, I thought it’s quite self explanatory.

Last Chinese New Year Before Marriage

Marriage. What a wonderful thing.

Chinese New Year. What a wonderful thing also.

But during the recent Chinese New Year, I realized that when both are put together, it may be quite an emo thing for a wife or wife-to-be. It was my last Chinese New Year celebrating it like I know it since I was born!

Thoughts on The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

This book has been on my wishlist for a while because I like to read bestsellers. I’m aware of a couple of friends who read and recommended the book. I’m also intrigued by the 4.5 star rating on Google Play Books.

However, when I finished the 15 pages of free sample in one seating, I felt very repulsed to continue reading.

First Time Bathing Naked in a Japanese Onsen at Oedo-Onsen Monogatari (Odaiba, Tokyo)

If there’s one thing that I want to remember in detail from my trip to Tokyo last month, it’d be the Oedo-Onsen Monogatari experience. Translation: naked hot spring amusement park 😂.

Actually when I first came across the hot spring, I didn’t know we’d have to be naked. I got attracted by the word “amusement park”. The video showed girls wearing yukata, walking around in a Japanese village — eating, playing, taking photos.

Best of Tokyo Travel Oct 2018

It’s been a week since my week-long trip to Tokyo, Japan! I think it’s a good time now to recall what I think is the best of Tokyo from my travel there recently. It was my first trip to Japan and you can bet many things were new and interesting, even though I was the one who planned the itinerary.

My First PET-CT Scan Experience at PPUM

I’ve never done a PET-CT scan before. It’s not part of the standard protocol for my case of Stage 3 Colon Cancer. However, during a routine CT scan earlier this year, doctors found increasing cysts in my liver and thus I got sent for PET-CT scan in PPUM.

For the record, the liver specialist and oncologist were not concerned about the cysts but I’m doing the scan anyway as precaution (like 7 months after).

My First Wisdom Tooth Extraction

I always find it easier to blog about my healthcare experiences vs travel experiences. I think I know why after my tooth extraction today. Healthcare experiences are short yet vivid, condensed and dramatic. Don’t get me wrong. I did receive care from a dentist in Parramatta but I still cannot believe I convinced myself to extract wisdom teeth.

Quarterly Chat with My Oncologist 23 Months Post Cancer Treatment

It’s time to meet my oncologist again! If I’m not mistaken, this was my second last quarterly visit. I’m gonna see him half yearly only after this…or maybe not since I’m still on a drug test program 🤔.

Anyway, let’s get the big news out first: blood test result was good. We spent 10 seconds talking about it.
