Sapa. Honestly, I’ve never heard of the place until my friends suggested to travel there so I really don’t know much about the place. But many of my other friends seem to know and want to visit Sapa so I thought it’d be good to have one post about my 2-day trekking at Sapa. Especially because there’s not much info about trekking Sapa in winter on blogs.
My first hike of 2018 turned out to be an impromptu solo hike at Setia Alam Community Hiking Trail. I’ve travelled solo to Taiwan last year April and kinda hiked solo to arrive at a shrine. However, it wasn’t like a 4.5km hike that I had today. Continue reading Solo Hike at Setia Alam Community Hiking Trail Jan 2018
I created a list of easy hiking trails in Klang Valley that I wanted to go at the beginning of the year. Bukit Dinding hiking trail was the only unchecked one on the list until one fine Sunday!
According to online sources, Bukit Dinding is one of the tallest hills in Kuala Lumpur. I don’t know how true it is but being one of the tallest doesn’t seem to earn it any popularity. Continue reading Bukit Dinding Hiking Oct 2017
Not sure if the 10.1km at Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam or Shah Alam Botanical Park (also known as Taman Pertanian Malaysia) was a hike or a walk. Basically, we walked on hilly tar road to Empangan Sg. Baru, then hiked on forest trails to Empangan Air Kuning. We were checking out the attractions along the way too so it was rather leisure.
My mom is laughing at the way I walk now; I can’t straighten both my legs because my muscles are aching after hiking at Kota Damansara Community Forest (or Hutan Simpan Kota Damansara) this morning. It was a 3-hour 7.4km (two-ways) hike to the peak of Denai Tiga Puteri, overlooking NKVE highway!
I wrote about hiking at Setia Alam Community Trail during my first hike there six months ago; took Route A up and Route B down. I actually commented that going up Route A was not physically challenging with my 4-month-old surgery wound. Today, I’m not sure if I’d say the same. Continue reading Got Lost Hiking at Setia Alam Community Trail
My mom always go hiking at Setia Ecopark, Setia Alam with her friends but I’ve never been there because our schedule never matched. I wanted to go hiking one weekend but didn’t know where to go so I tagged along with them instead.
It was my first hike since my major surgery in end Jan to remove 26cm of my colon. #achievementunlocked
To my surprise, a number of Setia Alam residents did not know about this hiking trail that is located at Setia Ecopark 2, somewhere behind Setia City Mall. Continue reading Hiking at Setia Ecopark, Setia Alam
Not sure what happened but somehow I have been hiking more often since I started this blog and thus the frequency of hiking posts. About two weeks ago, I went hiking at FRIM Kepong (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia) with a few friends because we learned that there’s a Canopy Walkway. Continue reading Hiking at FRIM Kepong
After our separate experiences at the much-dreaded Ah Pek Hill hiking, Alicia wanted to go for hiking at Broga Hill because we have been telling her Broga Hill hiking is so much easier than Ah Pek Hill but she has never been there.
So over the recent weekend, we decided to defy the long public holiday weekend mantra of sleeping in. RK and myself woke up at 4am so that we could meet Alicia and Victor early to leave Subang Jaya at 5am. The drive to the foot of Broga Hill took us less than an hour. We started hiking by 6am. Whoaaa.
