#sharestrength – The Symptoms of My Colon Cancer

From the story of my colon cancer diagnosis, I think it’s easy to tell I didn’t suspect I had issue with my gastrointestinal at all before the checkup. This left me puzzled and so I kept searching for symptoms of colon cancer to see if I even exhibit any of the signs.

First of all, my maternal grandmother suffered colon cancer at old age. With that being the case, I have thought of my chance getting it at old age but not now when I’m 25 years younger than the age for the recommended regular colonoscopy.

Short Trip to Singapore Jan 2016 – Food We Ate

I didn’t go to work on the first working day of 2016! I took leave and was at Singapore for a one-night trip with RK. Hehe. He was there for business purpose and I tagged along for a short trip to places I’ve never visited before and for a food trip to taste food I’ve never tried before. Even though it was a short trip to Singapore, it was a good one nevertheless =)

We started the drive down to Singapore from Subang at 5am I believe. We arrived at Singapore custom by 9am and started our day with food hunt based on the recommendations of his colleagues in Singapore. Let’s talk about the food that I’ve eaten during the trip in this post and leave the travel for another post.

#sharestrength – The Diagnosis of My Colon Cancer

Let’s start the story with the diagnosis of my colon cancer. On 9 Jan 2016, I went to the GP for pre-employment medical check up; it’s part of the process of getting my confirmation for a job that I was already on for 6 months. During the check up, doctor noticed a mass at my left abdomen so he insisted me to meet a gastroenterologist. Continue reading #sharestrength – The Diagnosis of My Colon Cancer

Starting 2016 with The Big-C

This is going to be a big news for many (if not all). But I know that as hard as it is to break the news, it’s something that I want to share and raise awareness for. And I know I’d reap lots of benefits from this sharing too. I was diagnosed with colon cancer at the age of 24 years 8 months on 20 Jan 2016.

I’m writing this as I lie on the bed, recovering from my colon surgery on 26 Jan 2016. I was just discharged from the hospital yesterday on 3 Feb 2016. Continue reading Starting 2016 with The Big-C

Eyebrow Threading in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya

I’ve always felt very intrigued to try eyebrow threading since college days because I had a friend who kept promoting it. However, I never tried it until yesterday when I finally found a place (and the resolution) to do eyebrow threading in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya!

To be specific, the saloon I stumbled upon is located at the LG Floor of Evolve Concept Mall, which is within walking distance from RK’s residence. I believe the saloon, Women Z World, opened end of December 2015. Continue reading Eyebrow Threading in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya

Baseball at It’s A Hit! Batting Cage, 1 Utama

Seriously, I’ve never heard of this automated baseball batting cage in 1 Utama until the gang suggested baseball for our supposedly-monthly fitness activity. Play baseball at the rooftop of 1 Utama Shopping Centre? Is it a new business? Apparently not. I did some digging and traced its website in 2006, saying it’s opening in May 2006! I suddenly feel like “katak di bawah tempurung”.

This was the website design in 2006. I thought it looked better than the one they have now: www.hit.com.my

Day Trip to Malacca

Two weeks ago, RK and myself just felt like work stress was too much to handle. One fine morning, he randomly suggested a day trip to Malacca to “runaway from stress”. With no itinerary at all, we woke up when we woke up and drove to Malacca for our “runaway” =)

Random weekend getaway to random places in Malacca. Stopping wherever we stumble upon. Where should we stop next? ☺
